LAKE OF THE WOODS ORIGINAL WEEKLY FISHING REPORT, February 14th, 2016

Well, this week we moved out to 12 miles past Pine Island. We do have some space to spread out since we’ve put the bridge out over a pressure ridge.

The weather is still up and down, we have had more 40 degree temperature swings this season than anytime we can remember. Today it’s blowing and drifting out there, so Tom is busy keeping the roads clear.  The bite is up and down as well. We are still marking a lot of fish, but how to get them to bite is the big question. The answer is smaller baits or plain hooks and a little patience. Keep one pole active and one dead stick.

The 10 day forecast predicts highs in the mid-teens to mid-thirties with little bits of snow showers and wintry mix here and there.

If you’re really anxious to get fishing, check out our new free fishing game app, plus you can earn points to redeem for prizes: WALLEYE MASTER FISHING on iTunes and Google Play. Try the Summer and Winter versions.
