Lake of the Woods Original Weekly Fishing Report!

We have moved many houses out a little deeper

We have moved many houses out a little deeper.  We are now covering from 23-31 feet of water.  The action is about the same although the quality keeper size has been better the last day or so.  There is not as much of a chance of catching a big one in deeper.  The bigger fish are still in shallower depths off Pine Island.  We are still having a nice mix of Walleye and Sauger, plenty to keep for take home or a fresh fish dinner.

Using electronics definitely has its advantages.  Using and active jigging stick with a jigging rap or similar is great when using your second rod as a dead stick.  The Drop Shot has been an awesome dead stick weapon.  It’s like using a stop sign and a plain hook all at once, let the minnow do the work.

Settlers Point has some great openings in February and March for groups of 10-18 people with unbeatable package prices.  The facility is great for keeping the group together.  9 large bedrooms and 9 full bathrooms with all meals onsite.  Some rooms have fireplaces and there are two great rooms with poker table and fireplaces.

We have some great deals going on in February and March and there are some spaces open, now is the time to call and book your winter trip!
