The bite remains strong and our Walleye Master Guides had great success this past week! There has been a mix of jig fishing and drifting with spinners. Bright colors have provided the best action. We have also done some trolling with plugs this past week. We have been fishing areas in both Big and Little Traverse Bays, focusing on structure areas or break lines of the lakes bottom.
The most popular question we are asked during this time of year is; how is the fishing in July and August? It may be asked so often because most Minnesota lakes generally have a slower bite in the dog days of summer. And, traditionally May and June are the best-known months for summer fishing in Minnesota. We are fortunate to be where we are, Lake of the Woods provides us with great fishing all year long. It is also a great escape from the heat of Southern Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois and Nebraska in July and August.
Therefore, the Walleye Master Experience at Border View Lodge is the ultimate choice in Walleye destinations! Our professional approach to providing the best possible experience is enhanced by ensuring our Guides have the proper gear to provide you with options. We will not limit ourselves to being capable of fishing in only one style. As any professional knows, having an edge creates better opportunities and more success. We provide that edge and our guides have the skills and tools to ensure anglers from beginners to pro’s will have the best day possible.
Another great week of weather ahead! We are seeing temps in the upper 70’s and low 80’s for highs, with lows in the upper 50’s and low 60’s overnights.
We still have some great opportunities for July and August with rate specials arriving on a Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.
