Lake of the Woods Original Weekly Fishing Report!
The river action has been getting better
October 22, 2017 at 1:40 PM
The river action has been getting better. Reports from anglers are mixed but there are some groups having great success. By the church is a regular hot spot and it has been doing well the last couple of days. ½ oz jig with a minnow is all that is necessary. Anglers on the lake are still ok with 3/8 oz jigs and having great success all along the south shore. Yesterday we had a 25 inch Walleye caught from our docks, which ended up winning their groups contest for biggest Walleye of their trip.
The surface water temp in the river is still around the 50 degree range and dropping. The forecast for the week ahead shows temps from the 30’s to the 50’s with a possibility of snow by the end of the week.
Although we are thinking about the ice season to come there are still plenty of opportunities to take advantage of the open water season. Give us a call before you put your boat away for the season.
