Anchored and jigging, outside the Lighthouse Gap has been excellent

September 22, 2019 at 9:05 AM

Anchored and jigging, outside the Lighthouse Gap has been excellent.  Many large Walleye have been caught this past week.  Along with tons of little ones and a great selection of keeper Walleye in the 18-inch and over mark.  Having those sized schools of Walleye so close is what many Anglers are looking for at this time of year.  There are plenty of bait fish nearby and they are being collected regularly in the river.  Not in huge numbers, but everyone who wants them has some.

There has been an increase in current speed the past couple of days.  We have had a few days of rain, at times it was coming down like buckets.

The forecast is showing low’s in the upper 40’s and high’s in the upper 60’s for the week ahead.  We continue to show possible rain, as always, we suggest bringing good rain gear.  Nobody likes being the person with the wind-blown poncho or mocked up garbage bag, both scenarios end up being wet.

Are you looking for some space for a group of 14-18 this fall or winter.  Check out Settlers Point.   www.settlerspoint.com  We have some availability for groups that want to be close to all the action but have a quiet place to stay overnight.  The Chili Bowl is coming up on October 12th.  There are a few spots available.  Call for a registration form.
